The Actors’ Guild Sierra Leone Has a New Leadership

The Actors’ Guild Sierra Leone happens to be the most active sub-set of the Sierra Leone Film Guild.  The late Martha Millicent Macaulay who passed away earlier this year was serving as the acting president until her last breath. And the group including the general populace of the Sierra Leone Film Industry still sees it as a big loss to the industry.

To abide for continuity, the AGSL National Executive Committee (NEC) had an executive meeting on the 5th of April 2022, where an internal election was held amongst the Executive Committee Members in order to fill the positions of President and Vice President respectively.

From a unanimous decision, via nominations and appointments, it was agreed that:

• Abdulai Saidu Tonkoh Kamara alias Glamour Raider – President
• Christiana Kamara – Vice President

• Ishmael Daddys Bangura – National Coordinator
• Madusu Koroma – Admin & Finance Officer

… should be acting until the next AGSL election which is hoped to be held in a year’s time.

Tentative Executive

Abdulai Saidu Tonkoh Kamara alias Glamour Raider was asked to serve as the President. He is one of the highly regarded film producers and actors in the Sierra Leone Film Industry. He brings to the table a good network and relationship with fellow actors and filmmakers from various sectors.

Christiana Kamara was appointed to serve as the Actors’ Guild Vice President. She is a recent graduate from the University of Sierra Leone. Christiana is a medical nurse, with a very long experience in the field. She is the founder and chief executive officer of Chris Movies which happens to be one of the formidable film production houses in Sierra Leone.

Ishmael Daddys Bangura was asked to continue serving as the National Coordinator. A position he has held for almost half a decade. This puts him in the position to be interacting with every regional coordinator. He is an elite actor with a very vast experience in the field of filmmaking. He is the manager for the Haja Manseray Conteh, the winner of Miss Curvy 2021. Ishmael is a businessman and a very versatile actor.

Madusu Koroma was unanimously asked to continue serving in the capacity of the Admin & Finance Officer; a mantle she has been carrying for almost half a decade now. She is one of the most benevolent actors that shows humility to everyone she comes across. Madusu is not just an actor but a professional martial artist with vast experience in various martial art disciplines. She holds a black belt and she happens to be pursuing her dream as a lab scientist.
