Alfred Harun Thullah alias SDG aka SDG was born on the 3rd of April somewhere in Kissy, Eastern Freetown. He attended the Nashirr Islamic Primary School in Freetown and proceeded to the Sierra Leone Muslim Congress Secondary School and furthered to the Northern Polytechnic which is now known as the Ernest Bai Koroma University and got a Diploma in Computer Software and a Higher Teachers Certificate with a secondary specialization in Performing Arts. He got a Bachelor of Education in Performing Arts (Music, Drama & Dance). Alfred is currently single with three kids and resides in Makeni, the headquarters of the Northern Province of Sierra Leone.
CAREER
Alfred Harun Thullah is a movie director, actor, screenwriter, social activist, and entertainment executive. He started as a theatre player and performer in 2005 after the eleven years of civil war when humanitarian organizations were using community theatre to reconcile and resettle people. He joined and acted with a lot of theatre groups across Freetown, especially the East-end. Alfred went on to become a playwriter and stage director after earning himself some experience from well-known stage directors back then.
Alfred Harun Thullah is among one of the earliest filmmakers in Sierra Leone after the 11 years of civil when most theatre groups transformed from theatre to filmmaking. And he became a major founding member of the Faith Production back then. Around 2007, Alfred relocated to Makeni from Freetown and enrolled on college. He used that opportunity to set up the branch of Faith Production which was almost the first formidable film production house in Makeni.
He has acted in several movies, directed several movies, served as TV editor at SLBC TV Makeni Branch, a Peer Educator with Restless Development Sierra Leone, worked with Caritas Makeni as Head of Programmes, with the Agency for Rural Community Transformation as Head of Programmes, with LFR International as the Country Focal Person. He is currently the principal of Pedmal International Academy, a private school in Makeni while he runs his film production. Today, he is one of the most experienced filmmakers in Sierra Leone that is open to sharing his knowledge and mentoring young filmmakers.
