Diamond District Awards to be Hosted for Kono

The Diamond District Awards recognize the 100 most influential people within Kono District. The award is for both professional and business people within the district. The likes of businesspeople, politicians, chefs and even common people that are making difference in the lives of everyday citizens within Kono District are deemed by the public and peers to be the most influential individuals in Kono district in terms of leadership and impact shall be honour for their service to the people and district.

 This event allows the public to nominate their top choices and selected honours shall be published in the annual district ranking and national platforms like magazines, newspapers, TV and major blog sites across the country.

Key Date and Deadline

Nominations shall open on the 17^th of August 2022 and close on the 15th of September 2022 at exactly 12 pm. The voting starts on the 1^st of October 2022 and ends on the 17^th of December 2022 followed by publications in magazines, national newspapers, and major national radio and television stations on the 20^th of December 2022.

Eligibility

Entries are accepted from and on behalf of individuals from all works of life within the Kono District.

Nomination Process

To submit a nomination, you must complete an application form which consists of three business-related questions.

• You should describe specific actions the nominee took in the year of the ceremony to help people within Kono District, operational and financial goals, as well as the challenges he/she overcame while undertaking their intervention in community development drive, Agriculture, or the mining sector.

• You should describe specific steps your nominee has taken to establish or contribute to a culture of innovation and transformation, including diversity, equity, and inclusion within the Kono District.

• You should describe how the nominee has been engaged in shaping health policy, youth activities, mining policy, education, and entertainment at the district level.

• A ballot comprising 300 names shall be posted for voting when the nomination period closes. Senior national stakeholders and religious leaders will make a final determination on the ballot. Judging for the final ranking of the 100 most influential will be based on public voting.

• Nominees may notify their social networks and the public for inclusion on the list and provide details to them. However, to maintain the integrity and fairness of the event for all nominees, the management shall not condone any efforts to circumvent our voting processes and they are open to sponsorships.
