George Lewis is a Sierra Leonean Krio living in the capital city of Freetown. He is an award-winning photo-journalist in Sierra Leone with several international acclaims due to his work in journalism and the Sierra Leone Film Industry. George has over 20 years of experience as a cameraman, over 5years of experience in TV news producing and editing at the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC).

He also has over 15 years of experience as a freelance filmmaker both nationally and internationally. He has captured the minds, hearts and attention of individuals across the globe with his ability to tell African stories from the Sierra Leone perspective. George would always be with his camera capturing the images of the Sierra Leonean struggles and successes during the eleven years of the civil war, the Ebola scourge and pasts elections. He has shot several fiction films and documentaries.

Presently he is one of the most outstanding cameramen who also doubles as a producer and editor at the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation Television. He has worked as a fixer for CGTN Africa, CNN African and World Bank and several other projects. He has gotten a wealth of experience in light and sound recording. George is a trainer for the Welth Film Trainings, a Camera Lecturer at the University Of Sierra Leone Mass Communication Department on a pro-Bonner basis and a creative director at VAfrica. He is the incumbent chairperson for the Cinematography and Technical Guild of the Sierra Leone Film Industry.


He is amongst the senior cameramen at the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation Television with a very strong affiliation with several other professional international cameramen. He has types of equipment worth over fifteen thousand dollars. George is presently writing his first book while he is trying to empower himself on several online causes.
