Some part of the reasons why the Sierra Leone Movie Industry has been staggering to win the minds of the local audiences has been the style of storytelling. Most young filmmakers do not care to get an insight into the minds of the audiences, know how they will relate to their stories or what lesson they may learn from it. The borrowed stories, cultures, customs, traditions and the poor creative styles have all contributed to retrograde the acceptance of the Sierra Leone stories on screen.

In light of that, some intelligent artists in the Sierra Leone film sector have realized such a gap exists, and they’re shouldering the responsibility to enhance the lorels the industry is supposed to carry through their storytelling styles.

As one would say timely, the Good Luck Films in Collaboration with Chris Movies have just led the example by providing ”SINNAH”, the kind of story the Sierra Leonean local audience has been looking forward to seeing. The makers of this movie took note of the standard required based on global best practice, as the proper way to market and distribute their product.

Sinnah is an AfroEpic drama, a full feature that depicts the precolonial Afrocentric setting with a standard storytelling style that is good for all segments of audiences. It is just the perfect reminder of the days of ballads, eulogies, lullabies, etc. It is the connotation of the actual politics and setting of the Sierra Leonean precolonial era.

Story Line


SINNAH is the younger sister and second princess who is so desperate and thirst for power and feels her elder sister is fragile and not fit to rule the androcentric driven chiefdom. She will stop at nothing to earn it, even at the possibility of taking away life to achieve her goal.

Date: Friday, the 28th of May 2021.

Place: New City Hall Auditorium, Lightfoot Boston Street, Freetown.

Time: 6:30 pm.
