Her Early Life
Hawanatu Koroma alias Natu was born on the 26th of September 1990 to her Sierra Leonean parents in Freetown with her two siblings. She started her education at the Infant Kissy Primary School in Freetown and to the USA where she completed her primary school education, secondary and university.
She left the shores of Sierra Leone for the United States of America through Senegal where she lived with her mother and two sisters for
one year to sort out her visa issues. She was at the tender age of 12 at the closure of eleven years of civil war.
Career
Hawanatu Koroma is a filmmaker, musician, model and philanthropist. She decided to become an indie filmmaker six years later when she discovered her talent in acting, which she backs up with music and modelling as professional careers. Hawanatu has taken part in a lot of projects in different sectors of entertainment in the USA.
In 2020 she started her own production company – NATU TV. She wrote and produced her first movie – DOUBLE CROSS, a short movie. You can search and watch it on Youtube. Inspired by the positive comments from her close allies, friends and fans, Hawanatu has decided to make a full-length feature out of what she has done.
Hawanatu is the Executive Director of Young Talent Charity Agency Sierra Leone – a nongovernmental organization that caters for talented children by sending them to school and providing school materials. The organization is more focused on helping poor and vulnerable children get access to modern education.
Currently, she is working on ”Double Cross” including other movie projects which she will premiere in the USA where she lives and works as a trained nurse.

Today, I went to the beach front with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed.
