Early Life
Joseph Tiala Amara is known by the screen title Krio. He was born on the 1th September 1985, to John Amara and Isatu Amara both of whom are of the Mende tribe. He is the first son to a family of three boys. He attended the UMC Primary School Brookfield’s; from class 3 to 6 where he started his acting career. Joseph proceeded to the St Edwards Secondary School May Park Kingtom and did his junior secondary school. While there, he was member of the school drama group. He furthered to the senior secondary school at the Methodist Secondary School Kenema. After his WAECE, Joseph proceeded to study film making in some national and international film schools, and closely started paying more attention to filming making.
Adult Life
 Joseph Tiala Amara  got married to a very beautiful professional caterer and a lovely mother hard working woman – Janet Amara in 2018; and to this day, they have 2 boys and a girl. Balancing his life as a father and that of a filmmaker is something he does well.
Career
In 2002 Joseph Tiala Amara did his very first movie appearance in the movie titled Lost Love. He was part of the extras for one of the very first sets of Sierra Leonean movies Wan Born N Dem Pikin Dem in 2008 I joined the Ushers SL as an actor where he, later on, joined the crew as production assistance to the director upon invite. Joseph has appeared in so many hit movies like Hunted House, Counterfeit, Out of Control, The Crusade, etc; – all written and directed by Aiah Momoh.
He started self-learning, operating camera in 2012 I deed my first shooting as a camera operator for the Sky Light Movies I was also working as the permanent camera operator in the company at the time and the movie tittle was Lip Stick which took me to the lam light of cinematography and I continued doing national and international projects, presently I’m working as the Event Manager and D.O.P at the Philip’s Creation Company Ltd. Even though 2020 has  been a very challenging year, he was able to do some works which are still in the editing studio.
