Princess Josephina Sesay aka Jnap

Jnap attended the Anthony Primary School in Freetown and went through the Freetown Secondary School for Girls which is located within the business district of Freetown. She moved to the Unites of America and went further to pursue her academic goal through the Prince George’s Community College for two years. She later proceeded to Howard University in 2007, where she spent a period of four years and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy, in 2010.

2020 to 2021 was the roughest period of her life. She was already amidst the process of premiering her movie, The Lense when her father passed away. That took a toll on her, broke her heart, and made her keep away all plans to mend the turmoil.

Career

Jnap is an actor, MC, movie producer and the producer of the TV Show, Moment with the Stars, which is normally aired on the African Young Voices TV. A show that her younger sister, Simta Sesay, happens to host.

She got her screen name Jnap when she combined the last name of her first Sierra Leonean boyfriend and that of the middle name of her late father – to Jalloh Napoleon. It became popular when a South African filmmaker who struggled to pronounce it, had to shorten it as, Jnap – combining the two names into one.

Jnap travelled to Nigeria in 2012 followed by a lot of travels across Africa, especially South Africa, Uganda, Ghana, etc. She made her debut in the movie, Bad Escape, a movie that was produced by a Ghanian Filmmaker.

She went on to co-produce most of the films she appeared in, that were directed by Foday Conteh, a Sierra Leonean USA-based movie director.  The notable one of her said films was, The Company, which was actually the first Sierra Leone music series, to also feature Sierra Leone finest rap icons, LAJ and Shadow Boxxer, in which they made their debut.

Jnap was a presenter at the Next Generation Entertainment Awards that was hosted in Maryland, in 2018. She is one of the few Sierra Leonean entertainers with a broad range of network across the African Entertainment scene, especially the film industry.

In 2020, she took part in the popular African Covid 19 fundraising show , Hope for Africa Concert that was organised by One Africa and hosted by Idriss Elber.

Jnap is a very courageous, dramatic charismatic character and a real force to reckon with in the African Entertainment Industry. She is currently planning on a huge comeback after the trauma she went through when her father past away. She is set to premier the movie, The Lense in 2022.
