Raider Paintings and Chris Movies Signed To Collaborate on the Movie Project

Raider Paintings and Chris Movies signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on a movie project title – Red on the 18th of March 2022 at the Freeown City Hall.

The movie script -Red was originally written in 2019 but could not be produced because the screenwriter Abdulai Saidu Tonkoh Kamara alias Glamour Raider was seeking for a production company that would fund the project. According to him, he ran after Pillars Production for a period of almost two years but to no avail. The CEO that told him to hang on later informed that they can’t go ahead with the project based on the bad market of Sierra Leonean Films.

Finally, he told Christiana Kamara, who would have been on the project as a cast, to partner with his movie production house Raider Paintings. Christiana, who doubles as an actor, executive producer and CEO, ended up bringing her production onboard to collaborate in producing the movie.

According to Christiana Kamara, the CEO of Chris Movies, her production house is open to collaboration as they have had experience with the collaboration with Good Luck Production on the movie project, Sinnah; a movie that ended up getting a lot of nominations outside of Sierra Leone and won five awards in Sierra Leone and some others from the diaspora. She further went on to clarify that Chris Movies can collaborate as long as the storyline is good and has a potential to break through especially beyond the borders of Sierra Leone. She said collaboration is a good thing in that it brings on board good new independent ideas. She promised that they would break the chain to ensure Sierra Leonean Films are recognized across the globe

The whole process was chaired by Fuad Kabbia, production manager for the Red Project. He presented the MoUs which were signed by both parties in the presence of all and sundry. The flow was opened for questions. 

When asked how they planned to ensure quality production, Abdulai Saidu Tonkoh Kamara alias Glamour Raider said they have all the professional people that know their job and can deliver. He went further to say that their target for the RED Project is for Netflix, and therefore would do all their best to have a quality finished product that will be suitable for any international market. 

They have started setting the stage and therefore working assiduously to meet their target timeline.
