Tears of My Country

How painful is the voice of my country

Crying with bitterness and deep-hearted sorrow

With peace, freedom, and justice writen in blood ink on her walls

Just as our leaders keep playing us like balls.

When polls are near

The amused thieves’ will now appear

In their tailored suits and ties

With their deceitful intents glibly oiled by their well-practiced lies.

While in office, pretending to look after our interest

But corrupting souls and buying silence

Inside the house of power

They plundered all her treasure, stripped her of her natural resources

Leaving her children wallowing in poverty.

Their kindness is Masquerade, confusing as the plague

They are Mercenaries drained in shame

They determine our fate

Using politics as a platform to acquire illegal wealth

They are our front-runners.

Their reverting lies are intoxicating

When elections are near

Citizens will go deaf and blind

They would deny their mindset yet another ticket to freedom

Selling their rights for tiny sums wrapped in envelopes.

This is the country our fate choose for us to live

Where the rich rob the poor

Leaving our tears and blood oozing through the door.
