The management of the National Film Awards today in their press release extends the FILM ELIGIBILITY SUBMISSION PERIOD. According to the founder Idrissa Barry Jalloh, they made the decision due to the call by filmmakers and film professionals and it is a means to give more people the opportunity to participate in the first edition. Below is their press release:
NATIONAL FILM AWARDS FILM ELIGIBILITY SUBMISSION PERIOD NOTIFICATION
To maintain a high degree of fairness and transparency in the process by which film producers, filmmakers, film professionals and others feel included in the inaugural National Film Awards.
The Board, Executive and Academy wishes to inform the film family and the general public that the eligibility period for film submission span 23rd JULY 2018 – 3rd APRIL 2021 has been extended to 1st July 2021.
To be eligible for NFA 2021 edition your project must have been completed, premiered or released either in the market or online within the period from 23rd July 2018 to 1st July 2021.
Please note that only film/documentary projects or works within this time frame will be considered for nomination and review.
The management wants to ensure that the Awards Competition is conducted fairly and ethically because NFA recognizes and honour all filmmakers and film professionals who demonstrate excellence and have foster growth and sustainability in the art of motion pictures.
