The National Social Awards previously known as the New Skull Awards held a press conference and unveils the 2022 edition categories. The event was held at the Kings Empire Hotel, Levuma Beach, Goderich on the 23rd of September 2022. The event was graced by media houses, vloggers, bloggers, journalists, and professionals.
Statement from the CEO of Kings Empire
On that day, the CEO of Kings Empire, Valentine King announced that the previous name, New Skull Awards has been changed to National Social Awards. According to him, the previous name limited the award. With the new name, they will take the award global and have several categories included. He carried on that award is an honour for any entertainer.
People outside of Sierra Leone respect trophies and he feels they should honour people that deserve to be awarded. Even though the industry collapsed when some individuals started selling awards. People turned awards into business and that made fans and entertainers lose interest. He emphasized the credibility of Kings Empire and assured all in attendance that NSA is the most credible award entity. He said it’s only in Sierra Leone that the fans are stars. People need to improve and change their mindset and awards can help that happen. Those that run awards and have destroyed their brands can still change it.
About the National Social Awards
The National Social Awards (NSA) is designed to celebrate hardworking entertainers across Sierra Leone and beyond. It has been one of the consistent award companies in the country which considers all facets of entertainment during their nomination process. Their utmost priority is to celebrate deserving entertainers who work so well in their various fields.
In this edition, NSA shall have fifty-four categories which make it the awards company with the highest nomination categories ever in the history of Sierra Leone’s entertainment industry.
The categories shall cover MUSIC, MOVIE, SPORT, FASHION & MEDIA.
NSA is ready to spend thousands of leones just to uplift the face value and rebrand the quality of ward ceremonies that every Sierra Leone can be proud of.
According to the founder, Abdul Salam Turay said that NSA 2022 edition trophies will be one of the most beautiful awards trophies ever seen in Sierra Leone, with a customized design created purposely for NSA. He further said that their utmost responsibility is to organize a free and fair award event and they as a company believe in credibility.
