The Premiere of Foster Parents Was Successful

About a decade back, when you talk about entertainment in the diaspora you could only see the picture of musicians or artists. These days, the Sierra Leone Filmmakers in the diaspora, especially in the United States of America seem to be walking on the right footing.

Hawanatu Koroma, a beautician and celebrity hairdresser, founder and the CEO of Natu’s Productions began her journey as a filmmaker in 2020 with just a skit and she is already making headway in the industry.  She founded Natu’s Production in 2022 and Foster Parent happens to be her first full-length movie project.

The reality is that it is not how long you have been into the game but how you approach filmmaking as a business, the strategies you put in place, the team you associate with, and the team you work with. The truth is, the team doesn’t have to be the best but the most determined and dedicated people that also follow the correct procedures and simple principles including powerful and warm networking.

Natu’s Production brought together very experienced talents with a web of networks. They worked as a team and every member played their part. If not the best, Foster Parents is amongst the first best three movies done by Sierra Leoneans in the diaspora in recent times. It was a very successful movie premiere, premiered in the United States of America, Silver Spring on the 16th of July 2022.   It was written by Roberta Uti a Nigerian screenwriter, directed by award-winning Ambazonia Cameroonian, Dexter Brains and shot by Brains Concepts Studios.

The movie featured Hawanatu Koroma, a born Sierra Leonean,   David Buakei Vandy an award winner, a pastor, and a renowned Sierra Leonean actor, radio presenter and show host on the Voice of America, Will Hug an international actor, Nosa Obaseki Agbonifo a well-known awarded Nigerian actor, Olabode Adeniran a Nigerian actress, Franklin Tochi Nwosu an awarded actor, Opal Juarez a Jamaican actor, and many more….

The premiere was graced with live performances by Salone  COOL J – a multi-talented awarded African American International star, Pardon C. – a Nigerian awarded artist, Mboh R.K – an international star Cameroonian artist and Nigerian international artist Remi Joe.

Natu’s Productions is currently preparing and looking forward to premiering the movie, Foster Parents in Sierra Leone and as well sell it to Netflix, Amazon Prime or any TV platform that is ready to buy etc. Everyone that was present at the premiere did not only make good remarks as they left their seats but took to social media and gave very positive reactions and reckoned that they would love to watch movies again, especially on any notable platform.

  2. Today, I went to the beach with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!
